- I say, a good/nice/flexible computer/OS newer loose a war. Not completely.
- Good products does not need that much publicity.
-
- Take a look at BetaMax, it was much better than VHS. The tapes were smaller and the
- picture was sharper. However VHS got the market and now we're stuck with it.
- But, who can say VHS won over BetaMax? In number of sold players...yes.
- But remember that the BetaMax technique is still used in proffesional systems.
- And BetaMax is still better than VHS.
- It's not better in the meaning that it's the most *practical* system but it's better
- in the meaning better quality.
-
- I wish people could buy the best products instead of the most common. But the
- ordinary customer is afraid to be too alone with a product noone else has, even
- thogh he knows it's a better product than most other have.
-
- However, each buy of the most common system instead of the best will slow down
- the progress for better systems. Look at DOS for example. By buying a system with
- low quality, you indirecly accept that quality.

-
- It's just that the ratio "Quality"/"Money devoted" is increadible low for
- most Windows products. Most people don't buy Microsoft products because they
- are the best (speaking quality). They buy it beacause it's most commonly used.
-
- And saying that something is the best because it's the most commonly used product
- gives us a circle in wich we never can get out from.
